One senior officer who rushed to the help of a colleague that got attacked by a knife attacker has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Valor.

Sergeant Tim Ansell fought with twenty-seven-year-old Jacob Brown subsequent to he held a weapon to the throat of his colleague Sgt Marc Foster.

Brown began the violence as the law enforcement personnel and their partner, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were talking to a motorist subsequent to a traffic accident in the area in mid-2023.

Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster before PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a stun gun.

"Officer stabbed," the constable stated over his radio.

Officer-mounted and vehicle camera footage released by the agency revealed Brown, that was clothed in dark clothing with a head covered, approach to Sgt Foster from behind with a blade pointed forward.

He collided with the policeman who tripped and fell to the street, after which Sergeant Ansell intervened and attempted to subdue him to the pavement even though being continually attacked with the blade.

Sergeant Ansell can be heard to say: "Please provide assistance on my neck now, I'm bleeding in the neck."

Sergeant Ansell suffered two lacerations to his neck and further wounds to his limbs and torso, while Sergeant Foster suffered slash wounds.

Officials stated Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to stem his partner's bleeding before paramedics came.

This most recent recognition arrives after the trio of policemen were granted departmental Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the prestigious bravery honor from the regional officer association in spring 2024.

They further earned a Area Bravery Award in summer 2024.

"The responses of the entire team ultimately rescued themselves and resulted in no bystanders experienced any wounds."

Brown was sentenced to an secure medical confinement in spring 2024, as stated by officials.
